Hum...
Quite long time never drop by and write “nonsense” at life@ANL!!
Not saying I am busy or something. Is I have no idea or any conception what to write…
My mind just blank…
Anyway, Feb almost ends…
Wish to say something and express some “nonsense” feeling over…
First, to my best brother, Mr. M (a.k.a Hippo, Mat don don, Himalayas Mountain and blah blah blah…)
Really enjoy all the moment work with you in ANL when you transfer back from school.
Back to back sitting together work all night long…
Traveling from one school to another…
Rushing all the “nonsense” project…
Never compromise with “last minute” shit assignment…
And…
Last two people who walk out from the office almost in every night.
This is all the moment we been work together for the pass whole year!!
I wish to thank you…
Thank you very much you teach me a lot. (Especially with those stupid sessions in VJC IP1 ICC web training!!) LoL
Thank you very much for all your support and guidance when we work together… (Especially all my stupid “English” and grammar problem.) LoL
I appreciate all the respect that you give and shown me when we fight for each other for everyday in ANL.
In PET team, you and me just like band of brothers… we go through all the hardship from one another to build up the PET team. Step by step, one step at the time.
Without you, PET team will never have a great success in logistic and planning for the operations in 2006.
You are one of the “Pioneers” in PET team. I really appreciate I have you to work in my team!!
I still remember we have a long chat when we sitting down near Sim Lim Sq, after the super heavy BK dinner. You do ask me before for opinion for you to have another career path. I was never expecting you just tender you resignation so soon. Way before we can spend more time together until end of the year.
For you, I just wish you all the best for your upcoming career path. Enjoy all the moment when you work with your passion.
Never the less, just enjoy and have “fun” all the way!!
Last, please don’t forget, you still have your “Uncle Wong” support you at your back.
I always consider you still part of the team. Part of the “Band of Brother”!! :-)

Brothers & Sisters...
Yup, would be nice if local companies practice such talent retention. Anyway, it's been out of this world having to spend two years plus of my life with such crazy people i call family each and every day and for that i can't say how grateful i am.
It's moment like when you are stuck outside your own office room because someone farted and stink the entire room....moments like this you will reflect back and remember the faces of the people you shared the laughter with waiting outside for the tornado to pass. *sigh* wonderful`
By the way, thanks to Astley for spraying the insectiside and spilling clorox on the carpet in order to fumigate the situation. Haha. Thanks Felix for accompanying me in finishing the kacangz while waiting for Astley to put out the fire. Err..or maybe smell?! Lol.
Anyway, this coming thursday is movie night again. Please come anyone who has nothing better to do. Oh My God...that's us!!! wahaha.
This Tuesday no soccer tho...cos eve of V day. I think can take a break on that day. Shall continue the street soccer after CNY.
For those who haven't heard the sotong and spiderman story...please get the full coverage from brother boon.
Enjoy the weekend, see u guys next week`

S'pore firm's lessons in talent retention
It's actually quite sadding to hear such events happening in office.
What's more, felt so distant when more and more folks and friends left ANL to seek better and greener pastures.
Why can't ANL learn to retent it's good talents?
Read On:
S'pore firm's lessons in talent retention
Jasmine Yin and Gracia Chiang
jasmine@mediacorp.com.sg
It does not set targets for its staff.
.
Neither does it like shopping around much for talent, preferring instead to hire only for junior positions and to move its existing staff — half of whom have less than three years of experience — to take on more senior positions within the organisation.
.
This is no mean feat, given that Singapore-based firm Olam International, which transacts multi-billion-dollar deals in agricultural raw materials, has 300 managers spread across 52 countries.
.
"We don't have a target-setting exercise. We'll give you whatever you ask for in terms of resources. What we expect from you is a certain bottom line from these resources. You (have to) work like an entrepreneur," its human resources (HR) vice-president Joydeep Bose said.
.
For its efforts in retaining talent — an increasingly difficult task for companies — Olam has been nominated in the "Best Retention Strategies" category at the HRM Awards 2007 to be held tonight.
.
It is the sole local firm to be nominated in the category, alongside multi-nationals such as Barclays Capital Global Services, FedEx, Hewlett-Packard and IBM.
.
Local firms fared better in the "Best Mature Workforce Practices" category.
.
Save for McDonald's, the remaining four nominees are either homegrown private or government-linked companies, including Dairy Farm, SembCorp Environmental Management, SingHealth and Alexandra Hospital.
.
At SingHealth, 70 per cent of its 350-strong retiring workforce has stayed on beyond the retirement age of 62 years old. Eighteen per cent of its 14,000 employees are aged over 50.
.
New jobs were created for mature workers, such as the Singapore General Hospital's Patient Relations Ambassadors, who interact with patients and obtain their feedback. And equipment like hoists to transport patients and magnifiers for easier reading of medicine bottle labels were purchased to ease the workload for these employees.
.
SingHealth's group HR director Geraldine Lee said: "What we're doing more is preparing people for re-employment beyond retirement. The healthcare sector really has people with good skills and these skills can be transferable through a lifetime. It's a waste if we do not tap their skills."

Re: Wishes vs Expectation.
New Year, New Day…
New resolution for the up coming year.
Lots of people already have some new plan and resolution in New Year.
Wishing themselves doing much better and doing well in they way.
What is your New Year resolution?
I get myself a piece of paper…
Write down all my wishes and resolution for someone…
Wishing hard for up coming year…
Will doing well and better for us.
I told myself I will try as hard as I can…
Make all those wishes to come true…
Just for my expectation for someone.
That is my New Year resolution…
Some how…
Do you expect what you will get in the end of the time?
What you wish for… may not is your expectation.
Always…
Manage your expectation before you make any wishes.
It will better to be that way.

Nancy's Last Day
:D Promised Joy that I would write a post for her, because in her own words: "I want to be mentioned and remembered by the millions who read it!" :D:D:D Since I am not getting her any Christmas present, so here you go. Millions may not read this, but for all who came, hope you have a great fun remembering what I am about to write.
When: Friday, December 22, 2006. Just around 10 pm +
Where: Ministry of Sound, Singapore
Attendance: Nancy, Joy, Felix, Tze Ming (dude, I hope I spell your name correctly), me (stunned look everyone), Yee May, Wei Lin, Gazzali, Astley, James, Mike Xu, Chris and the Mrs.
For Nancy's last day, I was thinking of a more conservative way of celebrating, a dinner and all. But of course that crazy girl or someone else who anointed himself as chief of midnight entertainment ;) suggested clubbing. We did have the dinner by the way, at vivocity. Anyways, there were people who said they were going and there were people who said they were not going, and we ended up with the group of people that we had.
It was first time experience for some :$ and it was like getting 10 years younger for others :D Drink were served and when we started hitting the dance floor, oh my God is what I can say. We know that Astley is a bit nutty, but to see people like James and Joy being so on, huahahahaha :D:D:D Who knows that James has that crazy side? Maybe this is his suppressed side coming out after the many nights in the office doing OT :D Joy also awed us for being so "on". Though some of us not as professional as Gazzali and Tze Ming for example, but all and all I guess everyone quite enjoyed the night. You really see a different side of people, and get to know what other things they are capable of doing ;) It is truly interesting. I heard because everyone had so much fun, another outing is being planned. I think it would be great and interesting if more people from ANL come and join us. We really do have a crazy, fun, and happening bunch of people here.
I know that Nancy had a great night. I think it's a good way to spend her last day, laughing and dancing, rather than tearing up which she actually did :D Okay, I gotta go, maybe the rest of you want to write your recollection of the night? Before I go, let me leave you with a little poem from Shel Silverstein who wrote The Giving Tree. Merry Christmas everyone! Happy Holidays!
ALICE
She drank from a bottle called DRINK ME
And up she grew so tall,
She ate from a plate called TASTE ME
And down she shrank so small
And so she changed,
While other folks never tried nothin' at all
